Actually, when it comes to geniuses of his level, they have their specialty (In his case, quantum physics) and a number of other fields that they would also be considered "experts" in. So Its not just "because celebrity" that people pay heed to what he says.

Whats really sad is that his mind, while still completely functional, is trapped in that almost completely useless husk of a body. I heard somewhere that writing even a paragraph in one of his books can take an hour or something. Imagine if he was able to communicate more quickly. The things he knows that we will never find out (at least in our lifetime) that are stuck in his head due to this bottleneck may be truly amazing.

I may have misworded my comment so it sounded derogatory. It was not intended as a slam.
What I was saying (or trying to) was that since he is now both a scientist and a celebrity he has a wider platform and audience beyond his "normal" field. This gives him the ability to make statements and present theories beyond what he originally was known for.


Let's face it there are many scientists that are well known in their specialty that the public has never heard of. They could put forward any theory or statement they want and nobody but a small handful would know or care that they did. Become famous and even have a movie made about you and now all of a sudden Joe Public wants to hear what you have to say regardless of topic.

Trans and diff fluid isn't at 30k, I don't believe. Oil change, cabin filter, air filter. Got my TRD intake a month or so ago, so skipping the filter. I think they'll inspect some of the other things. If they want to change the diff fluid/trans fluid, I'll let them. Wouldn't hurt, and I'd actually like to have the trans fluid changed.

I'm at the stealership. 0 hassle if I need a warranty claim. Also, doesn't hurt if they've had your business for a while when you file a warranty claim.

I've seen him live, he is actually an amazing speaker. Funny, charismatic, yadda yadda. I thought going to listen to a physicist would be awkward but not at all. He is a celebrity for a reason. (Of course if we lived in a society where being a great scientist/physicist/mathematician made you a celebrity on it's own merit... but that's none of my business.)

I would double check the manual.. hell I am probably wrong but I had a friend of mine do my 30k service at his shop. He is very knowledgeable about the chassis and trust him more than any dealership. I had him do cabin air filter, brake flush with new brake fluid, motul 300 fluid change for trans and diff, and the oil change. He even did it for $300 less than the dealer quoted me.

A lot of those are labeled "inspect" which I think translates into "replace if needed" in my manual.
I hope they don't try to do all that today, I don't got the dough atm.
