Today I was looking up the Password Gurney flap.. CF or Kelvar.. looks nice but they come raw, so need to factor in lacquer finish.

When I did composites in A&P school we used aramid which I guess is the same thing as kevlar just without the brand name. Even though I prefer the powerplant side that was one of my favorite classes.

Could easily have been something I did. The fun part will be tearing it down to see what is salvageable(I am betting very little) and what went wrong. Was running fine and then coolant temps started to go up a little after a lap and coming out of a turn it dropped all oil pressure. By the time I found a spot to safely get off line it started rattleing and let go.

why in the middle of the yard?

wouldn't it have been a lot easier to put it in a corner?

The more you move the body the more evidence you leave behind. Smart move!

Not easier or harder installation wise. For ease of access, maybe (assume that's what you meant), if it was closer to the driveway. This spot has the most Sun near solar noon, except one spot on the big sideyard but that spot is dry and a long trek with the hose. Closer to the edge on the driveway side would be in the way of our outdoor BBQ spot and closer to the neighbors driveway has a big garage from the other neighbor's property that blocks the morning sunlight. The other side yard on the North end of the property, that only gets sunlight like 2 months of the year before 3 or 4pm. SO the best spot was kind of smack dab in the center of our tiny backyard. I think*, I'll let you know how it goes... I failed pretty miserably with everything except sunflowers in that dry clay on the big sideyard I was talking about in past years.

I started sharing my opinion on things when I see something isn't right. People don't like this apparently.

Goal for Saturday. Get a hair cut. Mission failed.

Haven't had a haircut since November 2019. Tired 4 places at 8am. First 2 still closed for covid. Third business tanked completely and shut down. The 4th place wasn't open until 9am... so I went shopping to kill time. Came back afterwards to a sign stuck to the door saying they were only accepting phone-in reservations. Drove north to higher priced barber who was booked solid for the weekend. I left my house at 7:30 and by 11am I gave up.

Goal for Sunday. Do some wrenching/wiring today. Mission Failed-ish.

Built a custom pillar pod, repaired a cut harness and built a new harness for an AFR/failsafe, boost gauge, boost controller, and an electronic bypass/BOV in for the daily driver that hasn't arrived yet.

I ended up having to re-buy all my electrical stuff as I just can't find shit anymore after a few housing moves. Hit the local auto spot and just grabbed the mixed packages for every crimp connector, heat shrink, fuse assortment, grommets and some solder... Got half way through the job and cannot finish it as I now cannot find my T-fittings, assortment of plastic push clips or hose clamps... will resume tomorrow after another parts run.

Quite annoying.
