Is it just me, or have there been a lot more new members than usual recently? The "new here" threads seem pretty active.

Kinda makes sense given the circumstances. I've noticed it too

Give it a few weeks. @humfrz'll creep 'em out and we'll have it to ourselves again.

I wish they would make pot legal here. We lose lots of tax dollars to Oregon. It is no secret the pot shops at the border are funded by Idahoans.

Now, THAT brings to mind a back-in-the-day civilian/Army story.

When I commanded a reserve unit located in San Jose, I had this one soldier that decided not to attend meetings anymore. I was about to submit the paperwork to put his sorry ass on active duty (and in 1969, you know where he would have wound up), when his platoon sergeant convinced me that if we would make personal contact with him, he could convince him to come back off AWOL.

The sergeant said he was hold up somewhere in the Santa Cruz mountains somewhere around Boulder Creek. So, with the sergeant driving my jeep, me riding shotgun and one of my lieutenants riding in the back, armed with an M-16, we headed for a hippy commune in the mountains. No, I didn't give the 2nd Lt live ammunition, I wasn't crazy.

Well, we arrived in Boulder Creek and asked at the gas station where the largest hippy commune was located. When we arrived at that location we drove into the middle of the camp and my Lt stood up in the back of the jeep, waiving his M-16 rifle around.

What a sight - hippies diving into the woods, people throwing stuff into a fire pit and the look on peoples faced was priceless. Well, we dug out my soldier and the sergeant convinced him to rejoin the unit, unless he wanted to either go to Canada or spend his next summer camp in Vietnam.

THE END

Boulder Creek is where I got them. My buddy has a big lot there, and they pop up everywhere. Still lots of hippies in Boulder Creek.

Welp, maybe it's best that pot (in any form, for any use) is NOT legal in Idaho.

That would be like giving firewater to the Indians -
