Ok, it's review time. Did I enjoy this movie? Yes. Do I rate it highly? No. As mentioned I have seen a few Zatoichi movies/parts of series and this was more of the same. It was a (relatively) modern version of the same. That is, it didn't bring anything new to the table as far as Zatoichi goes. But then again, how could it? They all have to follow the style of Zatoichi. If it isn't Zatoichi then it isn't Zatoichi. Possibly my favourite samurai period movie is After the Rain. You might like to have a look at that. Dolls is next on the list.

It is very icy out today.
Also, to answer the question no one ever cared about: Yes, the Buick will hold a drift under the right conditions. |

so a a few months ago, i came across these speakers in goodwill, $20 for the pair. i had to have them, specifically because the woodworking was 'off', but the rest of the build was spectacular. no oem-level carpenter/speaker builder would use straight cuts on the corners. it generally seals worse, so 45 degree mitered cuts are the standard because it's easy/stronger and cheaper to glue/seal.
![]() ![]() this is what i'm met with on the inside-- nice felt padding on the edges, a semi-flared port edge, and fiberglass on the interior walls to reduce box resonances. they're very nicely built besides the bolt to connect the capacitor. clearly a lot of time and care went into these. ![]() ![]() ![]() my guess is 50-60's build date. there's no visible model numbers, and the builder never signed their work in any way i can see. i'm excited to have even gotten my hands on them at all, as most custom-built speakers just get trashed once the original builder is done with them. they sound mediocre as-is, the highs shake my ears(needs about a 10db cut), the bass is like a hiding cat--you know it's there, but it takes a lot of adjustment to bring it out of hiding...
