the early 7s had a chatter and lift problem. one of the later 90s actually had a Mumford link rear suspension. what a great improvement.
even the old ones were a gas.

Keeping in mind that the bulk of the Japanese car in the 60 and 70 here were complete and total junk to start with though. There were exception of course but even the "good" ones were still crap by later standards. Most people that think they were great are either reminiscing through a cloud of nostalgia or have never actually driven them on a day to day basis. They were cheap and the whole Japanese automotive system had not reached it's potential yet. Things like the TPS (Toyota Production System) didn't really start to have the effects it would until the late 70s. The Japanese cars broke easily and they broke a lot back then. Was one of the reasons they took so long to win the American public over.

Anyone who read my thread My First Turbo (NTC)https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3187579&highlight=Corvair#post318 7579 knows my affection for Corvairs. Well, my high school auto shop teacher had a totally tricked out Yenko Stinger. Unfortunately he blew up the engine. He figured that it wouldn’t cost him much more to stuff a small block V8 in the back seat than it would to rebuild the stage 3-4 Stinger engine. So, that’s what he did. (With the help of senior automotive class.)

Well, that car was sawwheat! I’ve lusted after a V8 Corvair ever since.

Here’s just one of several I’ve looked at buying.

You can read all about this build in the member’s cars section of the Corvair V8 Registry.

The 915 (in the 930) transaxle is extremely clunky and awkward, but can handle a ton of horsepower. I have one in my '77 911s. If I was doing a conversion i would get a much more modern Porsche transaxle like the G50.

No, he just assembled it more efficiently than was designed.

Massive crab pig out tonight. First time ever. Last time ever. I mean, it wasn't bad. It was pretty good. Just not worth the money or the effort.

Sounds good!

To make it easier, I suggest you get bigger crabs -

You have a tv stand made out of cinder blocks, milk crates and old planks? Or is that only when engineers are in school?
