So I head off to take a shit. There's a massive spider behind the toilet, in the corner. I ain't gonna relax with that thing ready to bite my ass. My wife hands me the dust buster. I suck it up on the second try (weak ass dust buster). Damn thing is still alive inside. It's on the opposite end of the house, though. My sphincter will now be able to relax.

I can understand that. If it's the art style, then there's definitely no getting around that. If it's the quirks, I will say both the shows I'm talking about were some of the least "anime" anime I've ever watched. All the quirks and normal tropes are almost non-existence. I watch a lot so I'm very familiar with the in's and out's and it's always disappointing to watch an amazing show, but know I can't recommend it to anyone because it suffers from anime weirdness that, while sometimes minimal, something I can easily gloss over, might be glaring to a non-fan.

My understanding of "Prince of Tennis" (if that's the one you are referring to) is that there's a power shot that turns into a meteorite and takes out the dinosaurs. And a guy that is his own partner in doubles play, because after-image effects.
