I've considered the peninsula. That place though? HOA= no. Also has a lot of weeds to keep short. And a few other challenges... That property tax though! So cheap.

We've found that suburbs means we both hate the place. Have a few years till I can retire, especially if my wife finds the job market excludes her.. she's just unexpectedly discovered 18 years at a company means nothing more than a few more weeks of severance...
Edit... Likely will look for land to build...

I've now officially stared at that photo way into the "stalker zone" time.

I say her recently in a trailer for "How to be a Latin Lover". She's definitely had work done to her face but still looks dang good for a lady who is 78 years old.

I have to disagree... she looks all wrong... eyes all over the place, the whole face looks plastic... Age with grace!!

Also, I was a real estate broker for over 10 years and bought and sold hundreds of houses for clients.

I just completed a CMA (Comparative Market Analysis) on his property in San Jose.

That background and experience led me to the comment about his property and his competition, as far as his pricing, having 3 bedrooms vs. 4 bedrooms.

Now, when you are ready to get the hell out of the Midwest, come on out to Washington, to our naturally air conditioned climate, with air that ain't been breathed before, and I'll find you a nice little retirement place up in the mountains.

i don't really have a desire for a place up in the mountains i mostly want what i have but with a large barn with a few car lifts and a machine shop. i'm sorta watching for the house behind me to go up on the market, might make them an offer and build a barn in it's place... i'm also an older millennial. with the way they keep upping the retirement age, i don't expect to ever retire. but i'm 6, so i've got a ways to go.

the one thing i can say about this is if you look at the majority of electrical work, not starting on fire isn't for a lack of trying.

REALLY! They wanted to do a test on my head once, the Doctor (PhD type) brought in a pile of different shaped, colored blocks and a green box with different shaped holes in it. NO WAY would I participate!

OK, well you got a ways to go (working) before the mountain cabin would be for you.

OBTW, before you get too far into that idea of buying a property, tearing down the house and building a barn, I suggest you check to see if there any CC&Rs, any HOA restrictions, or any local or county restrictions in doing that -

Well to be fair, in the trailer she was wearing sunglasses and looked much better with some movie magic.
