The problem goes away when we all get jet packs.

Oh I agree with all that, which is why I was a big hydrogen fuel cell proponent. It's a much better practical solution, but we're so sidetracked off that now I don't think we can get back to it.

Actually, no. I don't think it has died completely. There are technical hurdles waiting patiently for solutions. It may yet happen.

It has its own set of challenges, and benefits. I think that batteries (or other direct electricity storage mechanisms) are a much more robust path to choose for improving; relative ack of consumables makes it an obvious choice for things like, say, Mars. Or the moon. Electricity to recharge can be generated in SO many ways. Hydrogen is a bit trickier (or so I understand - I could be wrong).

Work have finally updated/replaced their pc. I've requested to get extra monitor, so I can do my work easier. Now, it's decently fast AND dual monitor. It'll shave extra 5~10 secs of my work of each records/datas. Which doesn't sounds like a lot, but if you add 5~10 secs per record/data, which I go through 500,000 or so per wk... that's a lot.

Electricity is useful because variances in potential are very unstable. That also makes it a bitch to store. Converting it to some other type of stable energy makes it much easier to store, though you lose some to entropy. |

All the alternative fuels have their pluses and minuses just like petrol. I just can't see electricity being as universal a solution as oil based products though. Pretty much every vehicle is powered by some form of petroleum because it is relatively easy to deliver, quick to "recharge" and is efficient in what it does. For example, in theory you could refuel a fighter with hydrogen in flight, or take it to the battlefield in a supply line to a tank, I don't see that happening anytime soon with electricity in an efficient manner. Right now electricity works in an urban setting, and for those that are willing to sacrifice their time for some "greater cause". That's really about it.

![]() This is basically my workstation at the office being a computer operator. My only beef is that our monitors keyboards and mice are of typical low quality. The monitors especially are just crappy TN panels which are so bad for our eyes. I've made the effort over the years to only buy S-PVA / IPS / OLED LCDs for personal use so I don't go blind.

sorry you're correct, I meant water not air (solar can be used to split water into hydrogen)
