Welcome back, hum! Glad things appear to have gone successfully!

Take it easy.

I arrived at the hospital at 0530 on Wednesday. The surgery started at 0730 and went on for a bit over 4 hours (2 hours longer than anticipated). The surgeon ran into more of a mess than the MRI indicated.

The surgery was a success, but it left me in a bunch of pain. I’m talking about “passing a kidney stone” degree of pain, that I’m still dealing with.

Since the surgery was more complex than anticipated, the recovery time is now estimated to be from 4 to 6 weeks. UGH!

The nursing staff did an excellent job, considering I’m a pain in the ass patient. I tried to tell them that if they would just give me a morphine pump, I’d be a happy camper, but they wouldn’t do that – damn!

I’m still packing (hooked up to) a suction drain, that I have to empty every 4 hours.

The granddaughters are off school for winter break, so they are all over here waiting on me.

Thank you all for your well wishes. I appreciate that.

Thanks, spike021.

Yep, taking it easy fer sure, no other choice -

I have learned something new about mrs humfrz. When she is doing ALL of the work and chores - DO NOT make any suggestions on how to do anything -

A piece of advice for you younger folks, IF your back/pelvis/hips starts hurting you - get it looked at and take the necessary steps to repair it WHEN YOU ARE YOUNGER - don't wait till it almost locks up.

Did you get the second off, or are you as bad with numbers as you are with letters?

I have the 2nd semi off. I have to go in and do my month end stuff but that will only take an hour or so. Off enough I count it.

I return on the 2nd, I believe.

But we also are required to use a few days of PTO; the holiday closure isn't the entire time.

Heh, one of the local guys isn't talking to me anymore after a year of us being friends simply because I said his new set of wheels were a bit pricey for the kind of build I'd do if I had the money to get them (he's doing show car things and from what I've heard, the wheels cost like 5k).

Sad world to live in when literally one comment insults somebody so much, lol.

Well, ya, that is sad -

I've found out over the years, that there are at least two things that you best not make negative comments about - a woman's hair, just after she has returned from the beauty shop and - a guys choice of wheels, that he has put on his car.
