Here are pics of the back. The hub part fits the clock motor perfect. If I could cut that down a half inch or so more it would be perfect.

You're about to retire. A good drill press is crucial to manly retirements. Or so I hear. And, weird as it sounds, last I checked the Ridgid floor-stander still has among the best runout and is often on sale this time of year. I think I got mine for right around $300. And you'd want enough power and the speed adjustment to get this done, so it'd be on my list of recommendations. Plus a good forstner bit. Aluminum is super easy to machine. And you can use mineral spirits for lube.



Or you find a machinist and pay them a good portion of that amount. And then don't have a tool in the corner for which you need to dream up amazing new projects.


At this point, you need to finish the project... it's a question of how.


Which reminds me... I still haven't used the tapping head I have to finish the project I got it for... Amazing tool though.

I mean, move the drill press, or move all the pieces of this clock project and hope none get lost. What would you choose?
