That sucks. I always ask for a pdf or email quote (with a quote number and date) so that I have some kind of paper trail to reference... learned that the hard way a few times in construction.

At least with it in writing it will be quite hard for them to try and inflate the cost without losing your business... also handy to have a written quote to try and match or beat the price at other shops.

It was through the phone, so couldn’t get pdf. Either way they had the rec of price and everything. When I got there, the guy said they can’t do the work on the work I’ve reuqested. They had to do more than I’ve requested, so pretty much pay +$700 (instead of $380) or look somewhere else. I said “bye bye” & went my way.

Well, another laid back day at the day care. The two older ones are at basketball camp, I'll pick them up soon.

The toddler is playing in the kiddy pool I just filled. She doesn't seem to mind the cold water …

The larger pool (1,000 gal.) is another matter. My old air compressor finally gave out … it's was only about 50 years old. So, after another trip to the hardware store, I'm filling the pool and fixing leaks as I go (two so far).

I don't want to think about the water meter spinning around.
