I used to be the same way, but then moved to preferring usable fun over status or knowing I have the top model. If I were to get a Corvette, it would be a Grand Sport. Cayman GTS over GT4, and so on. With 95% back road driving, even related to work, and no track time, I'd never make use of the extra 225 ponies. It isn't worth almost double the cost. Even if both are a valid option.

Now if someone were to buy a Ti Sport and put the Quadrofandango badging on it, that would be a pretender.

Outward appearances and number of employees is no indication of a nice work environment. I work in a brand new building for one of the largest global companies in the world, a fortune 500 company, and it's been pretty blah to work here. And now my positions is being eliminated after less than 2 years.
