Not sure why people would even be surprised. It has been a tv and movie trope for just about every stoner show or film ever made for years now.

oh and they refuse to take the non-working pieces back to investigate the problem with their materials, basically, unless I do an exchange (so basically they probably go to the trash heap rather than a lab to figure out why they're problematic).
Costs more to figure out than it is worth to them. They probably already know exactly what the issue is anyway. Almost everything you return to a store as defective just get's pitched into a garbage bin.

I get that, but at the very least acknowledge the problem somewhere. Something like "this product that you'll use in all kinds of environments every day has the slight issue of not working in temperatures reaching below 50 degrees".

Which rules out use in about 45 States and all of Canada.

Then they wouldn't sell.

I still fail to see any technical reason why LEDs would not work in those temperatures. We have far, far, far colder temperatures here and I have never yet come across any LEDs that would not work.

I wish I knew myself. But clearly the two I've had so far don't work in conditions below 50 degrees, and the support guy said a coworker or friend of his has the same LEDs in his Civic and has had the same problem.

So it's not just me. It's ridiculous that LEDs for a car dome light don't work in under 50 degree weather. Absolutely bonkers ridiculous. And I can't even get a refund because I'm outside the 30 day return window (which took place in September/October when it wasn't cold, lol).

Anywho I didn't really want to rant on this but it's really stupid.

You could always go back to the stock dome light. Just a thought.

I had to go back to stock front turn signals after installing my Tom's tails cuz the car got possesed. LEDs are wierd

Still gonna try a different LED since I know others do it without issue. Cuz stock is lame

I think I've only turned on my dome light once since getting this car. Still, I can see how it would be a problem for it to not work below 50 degrees.

I have left my stock one on overnight at least twice. Worked fine. Car started no issue. Did not crash.

Did you document this in the proper thread? I'm sure it would be relevant for more than just the usuals in here.

He never actually mentioned driving the car though, just starting it. It doesn't really qualify.
