Reminds me of the time my buddy and I were fishing for marlin off the coast of Mexico. He inadvertently drank some tap water and he was prone to getting seasick. What a mess ..... diarrhea and seasickness at the same time .......I felt so sorry for him .......

I just had a near miss myself!

On a related note I could never understand why the term is "near miss". If it was a near miss doesn't that mean it hit but almost missed? Shouldn't the term be a near hit?

Or does near in this instance speak to the proximity the object came to making contact? As in it was near but it missed

Well then it is a poor choice of words.

I agree it should be a near hit. But, near miss has been ingrained into my vocabulary, such is life.

Well, it's kind of a slow day here in Puyallup ...... so, I thought I'd share my latest victory over the pharmaceutical industry.

A little background. For the last 15 years (ever since my stroke) I have been taking a drug with the brand name of Aggrenox. In the past few years the price has gone up drastically. Then it went off patent and a generic version was introduced.

So, I switched to the generic. Now, the generic costs more than the name brand stuff did to start with. Within a year, the drug went from $50 per month to $150 per month (out of pocket, after insurance)......

That is outrageous, so I figured I would use my pharmaceutical knowledge and see if I could beat the system.

Now this product in a combination of aspirin and dipridamole, which is micro-encapsulated. So, now aspirin is cheap. Then I discovered that dipridamole is relatively inexpensive. Now to convince my friendly family physician and Army buddy to prescribe the dipridamole alone. So, he wrote me a prescription ....... which costs $24 per month........

All I have to do is to remember to take the new combination twice a day.

Yep, the moral of that story is, that when you are on a fixed income, the only to stay even is to reduce expenses.

Some good news on the keyboard front. It has dried out, and is back to working. Might pull it apart and see if there is any damage/give it a more thorough cleaning.
