What magazines are you referring to? A friend of mine is slinging lead at Isis. That's something I want to do. Has absolutely fuck all to do with magazines,

Dude don't take this wrong but a Reserve JL course spread over 4 weekends or a week at a base is not exactly high level training. It does not even remotely touch what the regulars do. You were never even deployed or on a call out were you? Again not downplaying the Reserves in any way (that was how I started and ended my military time) but you are not in any way as trained as you think you are.

To your first condescending post, I have 2 domestic deployments (aka operational experience) under my belt, I have far more than just a JLC completed. Many courses at both regular and reserve force level.

To the quoted post, I don't need you to believe me. I honestly couldn't care less. It's something I'm looking into, and I guess I'll see how feasible it ends up being.

For a guy who has never fired a rifle in anger, you sure do seem to know a lot about it... Oh wait, that's just the saltiness of being a peace time soldier, who wishes he was still.young enough to even dream about doing something like I'm considering

Was trying very hard to not be condescending and I have 8 years as a Reservist behind me including 7 as a commissioned officer. You have NOT had the level of training you seem to think you have.
I remember a rant you made once about somebody claiming that Reserves weren't real military and how you reemed them out. Now you try to pull that shit on me? Really?
My "peacetime service included two tours with the UN where although I could not fire back I did indeed take fire. Not the same as two hours training a weeks and then off to the Junior Ranks.
I was trying to give you some realistic advice but like always you just want to play your little imaginary games.

Have fun with that. I expect to see an offer letter in a month.

This exchange between you and @Cole reminds me of a back-in-the-day story.

My youngest son had just turned 16 and wanted to go get his drivers license.

I had tried to "train" him about how to drive a car ...... but he just didn't seem to catch on. I knew if I refused to allow him to take the drivers test, he would rebel.

So, I decided to let the person at the licensing office be the "bad guy". For example, on the way to the testing station, he blew through a stop sign ..... I ask him if he just stopped at every other one ... ??

After he attempted to take the driving portion of the test, the testing fellow came up to me and said "your son is not ready for his license, I'm going to fail him".
