What I mean is, do you guys count the day that you guys sign the document (marriage license)? Or day that had the wedding? I'm assuming not all the city hall are open on the weekend. We were thinking of getting married on Sat, so document stuff have to be done before that (like Thursday or Friday)
The date of the service. That is the day that will stand out in her memory not the date that some documents were signed. Don't know Utah but here whoever officiates the wedding will have all the documents so it won't matter what day of the week it is.

Congrats on your first wedding

Just checked... they're closed Sat & Sun. At least where I live, they're closed on the weekend. FML

Here's the thing, we won't have typical Murican wedding. We gonna have tea ceremony, so doesn't need someone to officiate. Just my fam & her fam... drinking tea lol

Thanks... still got over an yr, so I'm pretty sure I'll ask more weird questions.

Well, that's close to when I first remember putting up hay. My job was to sit up on the lead horse and slap that sucker when my grandfather said to move forward. The horse knew where to go ..... it just followed the windrow of hay.

Of course the horse would foam up in the heat of the day and make my balls itch. That wasn't nearly as bad as those damn horseflies that couldn't tell the difference between me and the horse ....... ...... maybe they didn't care ......

When we got to the end of the row, we could stop and take a big drink of water out of the jug that was covered by hay at the edge of the field .........

Oh, OK ....... I'll just drift away .......

In Washington state:

"A marriage license purchased from any county in Washington State can be used to get married anywhere in Washington State. The permanent record of the marriage certificate will be recorded with the county from which the marriage license was purchased."

The "anniversary date" is usually the annual anniversary of the date of the wedding.

Do you know how to remember it ......?? Just forget it once ......

Your "wedding anniversary" is a celebration of the date of your wedding; the date you were wed; the date upon which you said "I do." I guess folks could celebrate the "wedding application day" or "Wedding Document Completion Day," but I've never heard of anyone doing so.

We're going to celebrate our 35th in another week and a half. It's been wonderful, and I highly recommend it.

Thanks... still got over an yr, so I'm pretty sure I'll ask more weird questions.
It's not binding legally as a marriage unless officiated by a licensed individual, who takes care of the paperwork and stuff. I had to bring it all to city hall, but I was already married, the visit was just to file the paperwork. I'm sure it varies a bit by state, and any officiating may just be "sign here" but...

If you wish to have the tea ceremony be the day of marriage, I'm sure you can find someone that will work with you to make it happen, before or after, but on that day.

Maybe someone in the family can get their license by then?

I know people that get legally married a long time after they think themselves married, and celebrate both... But the legal date is never the main one.
