Well, I had help adjusting the girls bikes ...... from their little sister.

I was using a screwdriver to fine tune the brakes, when I turned around to put on the rear sprocket guard.

"First, ya gotta taste the part ....."

"Get outta ma way pa-pa, I didn't need that stinking owners manual, so I tossed it down on the deck."

(typical new owner .....)

On a semi-related but very sad note, the nephew of one of my coworkers accidentally backed over his (the nephew's) 3 year old daughter this morning. The damage was primarily to her legs but she didn't make it.

Don't know how you come back from that....

Or as the wife's new car has, auto braking if it picks up any objects behind our approaching from the sides of the car while backing. Thought it would be a pain in the ass but it works very well.

One of my ex girlfriends kids (years later) was playing on one of those pedal cars and rolled down the driveway into a moving garbage truck. Also did not end well. She really never did come back from it.

I'm definitely a fan of backup cameras. That's the primary reason I added one recently to our Suburban. Will probably add one to the 86 now as well.

Heartbreaking. I'm so very sorry. I hope that he and his family can find the strength to forgive and grow. That will be an unbearable burden otherwise.

Jeeeeeesus. So glad I don't know about losing young children.

On a brighter note @humfrz, I suppose she'll be on your level of backyard engineering in a few years time? Just please only give her the PG "back in the day" stories.
