Many of may cars had one speaker in the dash and only AM radio so the speakers sound just fine to me.

.......and then, I'll betcha ol Tcoat took an old speaker out of a junk Ford, cut a hole in the rear package tray, mounted it and stuck one of these between his car radio and the rear speaker.

Who can tell me what it was called and what it did ......??

You're god damn right. @humfrz would most certainly take better care of me than my girlfriend does. Plus he'd take me for car rides and tell me the same stories a few times per day. We could share a nap, eating and activity schedule.
