"intentionally dying" is a real thing that ruins games for both sides. It can get you banned. LoL players and DOTA are both toxic as fuck on top of the games actually being really hard with the last hit mechanic and whatnot. HotS doesn't use that mechanic and actually has events in game (like capture and hold this location to damage the enemies forts) that give it another dimension. When you Mentioned LoL a while ago I was really skeptical at how well a brand new PC player could handle both learning the game and the childish community

Not handling it well, obviously. I tried to play a bot match in dota, but after waiting for 15 minutes or so for a match, I gave up and went into a pvp match instead. Clearly a mistake.

My girlfriend's brother is in the top 5% of players in LoL. I'll have to link up with him and he can show me the ropes.

Edit: I knew that there was a reason I stopped playing multiplayer games that are largely competitive instead of co-op. And the awful communities are the reason. I used to love playing in public matches on CoD with my friends, but then I got a bit older and kids calling me homophobic and racial slurs while telling me they were going to rape my mom was something I didn't need to hear. Now my friends and I play Destiny, the Division, etc. Co-op multiplayer is great, competitive is great, when your team mates have a vested interest in you being better, rather than telling you to kill yourself

You should be able to instantly play a bot match with bots on your team so you won't need additional players. Watch since YouTube and maybe some streams to learn more if your acquaintance is busy

I tried looking for it, but couldn't find that option. Maybe I'll look again today, but the Witcher is almost downloaded, so goodbye everything else for a few weeks

Yea, this is pretty much why I play solo campaign games, or coop games with my sons on occasion. No interest in being dealt crap by kids (or adults for that matter) that I would not sit in the same room with if they treated me that way.

I get that trash talk is a big part of competitive gaming and what not, but there are certainly things that should not be said.

I grew up and played hockey and lacrosse at high levels, lots of shit got said during games, but there was of course a line. I remember getting a 3 game suspension one year in lacrosse because someone from the other team said a racial slur towards a player on my team and I didn't like that. I speared him, then dropped the gloves. I'm not proud of how I handled that, but I was young and on the plus side, I'm sure that kid never said, or at least got caught saying, a racial slur since then.
