I say I want the SF tech scene to collapse because the state of California and City of San Francisco think that you can always raise taxes and everything is going just fine, when it's not. This boom is temporary, but the infrastructure, irresponsible spending (cough corruption) and poverty problems are not.

It would be nice if other more business-friendly and low-tax states got some more investment and talent, because the only reason people put up with SF is because all the jobs are here, and the jobs are here because the talent is here, for now.

Hey, I have a lot of friends who grew up in the area living with their parents. People can laugh, but the 15-20k of saved rent is money in the bank, I would do that if the commute wasn't so long.

When it does crash, please lord do not let y'all come up here to Seattle! :P

It's already getting shitty with how many people are moving up here, we don't need more people

Meh, when I finally move out, I may find a smaller town to reside in. Getting too damn expensive here. Or I move to Texas and buy a 2k sq ft home for 300k or less. Plus when I look for tech jobs, many listings come up for SA or Plano.

Yea, not going to Seattle personally lol. Primarily because I got scared off reading about the Cascadia subduction zone, but also because it seems like Seattle is already too crowded.

I just have trouble understanding people who are determined to pay more to share a tiny apartment on a street where people shit and vandalize cars daily, and have a 1 hour commute down south They are the reason SF is crowded.

I think it would be really cool if Denver or somewhere in Texas or Nevada took off. It makes too much economic sense to move somewhere with plentiful real estate and low taxes, but there's that chicken and egg problem with finding employees. To save on taxes, such a move would be really good regardless of the availability of jobs if some of this startup stock does well...fingers crossed. After growing up, going to college, then going to work all in the Bay Area, I feel like somewhere new would be fun anyways. I would definitely move to a cheaper state if I wanted to start something myself, because at the beginning you really just need low expenses so you don't go broke.

Texas has really really hot weather, but to us Californians the land is almost free, which is kind of mind boggling. What do you mean I can buy a house without spending 50 years worth of savings? :O Plus it's a great place for car enthusiasts

Dude, it gets that hot in Oregon.

Is that really as hot as it gets?

So get a different one that eats up trunk space. I was going to sound proof and all that shit then I got the sub and decided it was good enough

I think all said and done, the 2ZZ is worth it, but in California if you are mechanically inclined and don't care that much for the high revs, you might want to just supercharge the 1ZZ so it's easy to get past smog. With a very high budget, I would do a 1NZ-FE with Apexi PFC and bellhousing swap between the C60 and C52, and then put a TVS 900 or Rotrex on it. Some guy raced a stock 1NZ with a turbo strapped on and overclocked to 8000rpm for years without a problem, which is kind of crazy haha. That would match the power of a 2ZZ, but be 50lbs lighter. Something similar would be a 2ZR-FE swap with Rotrex, heavier but more reliable, or a 2AR-FE swap, which would be more powerful and reliable, but quite a bit heavier.

The thing with the 2ZZ swap is that it's just so so easy. You buy a motor for 1200 bucks, an ECU for 200, a swap header for 500, the mount for 75, and the harness adapter for 300, and right there you have a 11.5 compression nearly 200bhp motor with a decent tune from the factory. It's not as strong or powerful as a K20, but replacement engines are quite cheap and for street driving the 2ZZ shouldn't have any problems.
K24.

Gram pointed me to a down firing one that takes up very little space. If I decide to go with a mix and match system this is what I will get.

Well, attempt one didn't work, sub box is too tall for the trunk. I take that as a sign from the heavens that I don't need a subwoofer.

The Caribbean is great, 75 on a cold day, 85 on a warm day... I here the summer lacks the winter breeze though so it can get a bit humid and sticky.
