Or my personal favorite: dealing with HR issues when people cannot behave like professionals or use common sense, ultimately culminating in depositions and days with lawyers.

Need to add to that, while all your other employees think you AREN'T dealing with it because of confidentiality rules.

Yes, yes, yes. Somebody here once said that if you really want freedom then you need to start your own business. They apparently have never actually started their own business!!!!!!

indeed.

between all the rules in dealing with people, what you have to go through to fire someone and not get sued then all the taxes, fees and licences you have to get only a fool would think the gov't ever actually wants anyone to start a business in the first place.

This.

I have started multiple companies, and I always tell my employees the same thing:

"If you have the slightest entrepreneurial spirit I highly encourage you to try to start your own company. If you are successful you will be rewarded better than any job as an employee. However most companies fail, and there is no shame in failure... at the very least you will be a much better employee after starting your own business since you will truly appreciate all the things that are handled for you that you aren't even aware of."

My father started about 5,000 I think. The shortest on record lasted 7 hours before he said screw it.
