A long time ago, i simply forget to close my hood

after someone crashed in my side (no heavy damage) got enough money for a completly new OEM Hood and paintshop AND to repair the full damage

and as a bonus removed every single mini dent in my GT86

Oh no!

I did that once. I was very very lucky that the backup latch held. It's a horrible feeling, isn't it?

Be cool if it opened backwards. Probably a big pain in the butt to work on though

My 58 Ford opened backwards. Looked cool as hell. Was a major pain in the ass to do any form of work.

A bit nervous for tomorrow, kinda feels like when I first started autocross.

Perhaps I should've changed the brake fluid and pads... oh well. Time to finally practice what I preach and see how the completely stock car is on an open track

My 240Z as well. The cool factor far outweighed the inconvenience.

Have a good talk with your instructor. Listen intently and don't drive outside your comfort zone.

You have absolutely nothing to prove.

Just pay attention and if the brakes start to fade, take it easy and know you're either in ABS all the time, or doing alright. And change after. If you do this more, the maintenance schedule will step up a fair bit.

Have fun.

I did a track day with a my BRZ completely stock, I started easy and drove a little harder each session. Brakes held up until the last session when I started to push hard (decided to leeroy jenkins it until the brakes gave out). The pads made it through, but they were shot and had to be replaced (they turned pink and looked like brick when I pulled them off the next day).

Pads and fluids are all the car needs to be fun on track (tires make it way faster but not too much more fun).

I don't think there is going to be an official instructor apart from the ones doing driver's meeting.. at least from what I read. Will probably pester one of the advanced drivers who also drives our cars to hop in with me.

Going to be a long day. Did a rough estimate and I might be pushing close to 30 laps spread across 5 sessions by event's end!

Thanks for the advice!

Its going to be a whole different experience from what I'm used to (auto-x), I'm sure. Been doing some reading and most people said a lot of newbies tend to get on the brake hard and stay on it too long, which causes the fluid to boil. I'll see how the car is after the first session or two.
