Stick with it. If you are tending towards a physics-based view of the world, this stuff's critical. It's essential to first understand how the hard way works. Revealing the shortcuts too soon would be doing you a terrible disservice.

Don't give up. It was hard as hell for me to visualize and wrap my head around it. I am NOT a mathematician.

Kind of reminds me of back-in-the-day when I would sit for hours in semi micro qualitative analysis and semi micro quantitative analysis labs figuring out stuff, then I get out in the real world and find out they had gas chromatographs and mass spectrometers to do the work for you.

Gee ...... then I found out that they even had NMRs (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectrometers) that could tell you more than you really wanted to know .......

Now ....... it's figuring out how much formula to add to how much water at what temperature, to make the 2 month old granddaughter all happy.....

Yep, sure did .....

The first time was the hardest, first I had to convert the instructions into metric, then find my graduated cylinder and gram scale. While I was getting set up and doing the calculations, my oldest granddaughter stepped up and said, pa-pa the baby is hungry, just put some warm water (it doesn't have to be distilled) on this bottle up to this mark, add 1.5 scoops of the formula and shake it up.......simple.

Yep, it's sort of quiet around here, ma-ma is sleeping in and I turned on this musical baby rocker thing, just to ease the withdrawals .....
