So, I started a discussion in the anime thread about slapping an anime chick on the side of my car for the fun of it. It seems neat, though I'm not sure if something that stands out that much is something I could personally get away with. I had another idea where I could commission a design from a friend that paints abstracts and use it instead. If she did it right I think it could look pretty cool. Here's something she's done (ignore the reflections from the other painting in the gallery):

maybe but that might turn out looking like rice if not done right.
