Now for the 300 people with torches and pitchforks telling me I am crazy!
I think I'll just play it safe with steel lugs. My aluminum ones deformed pretty bad where the socket applied torque anyways so they lost their coating there.

The SR48 ones from Muteki are chrome vanadium? Apparently they make tools out of it.

No they are crap lol. Dunno what my craftsman are made of, just know my cheap ones will flex open under enough torque and they have chrome vanadium printed on the side

Well some quick google-fu has told me it all depends on the brand. Chrome steel is stronger than carbon steel, but cheap chrome vanadium tools can be crap. So I just have to hope that Muteki uses quality chrome steel.

Pretty sure it'll be strong enough for a nut if aluminum is. I wouldn't use an aluminum wrench I don't care what grade it is

Don't fall in the "it is made out of..." trap. There are many more factors in the manufacturing process then just what things are made of. The highest level of chrome steel in a tool will fail just as fast as the lowest carbon steel one if such things as machining, tempering, and just basic design are not done right.

Hench why I said I hope Muteki uses quality chrome steel. I agree with what you said based on what I read, it's all in who's making it that determines the overall quality. A cheaply made chrome steel tool will break easy. But a well made chrome steel tool will work really well. Hopefully the Muteki lug nuts are well made and of a good quality.
