Shit man! I'd watch out about talking about that.. You know what... Before they come after you!

Yes, I strongly believe it did happen. But, when people ask why we don't return back to the moon for more 'studies,' NASA quickly answers it is because of funding.

By now, we should have at least gone once more up there. We just found that the moon used to be part of Earth. Last lunar mission was 40years ago. We can still learn so much from the moon.

Quote:
The moon was formed by a violent, head-on collision between the early Earth and a “planetary embryo” called Theia approximately 100 million years after the Earth formed, UCLA geochemists and colleagues report.
My question is: could there have been life before that impact on Earth? Maybe the world went through a quick change after the impact that to us may seem like it only occurred a few million years ago but may have been billions (moon is 4.53billion yrs old)? Maybe it had cooled down a bit, some life sprang on Earth but BAM Theia wiped it out! Quickly eradicated life and it started over. Main question here is, "could the Earth be older than what we think?" After all, think subduction zones and oceanic crust.

@Tcoat

haha don't worry, not on drugs, haven't drank beer in month+ and i'm teaching English and history. This week we are covering Persia and the Kurds for history and we're reading some Steinbeck snippets. My thoughts have nothing to do with what I teach. Unlike my next door 'neighbor' teacher, I don't push the kids into voting 'Hilary,' or 'Trump' and blab away at what Obama is doing/did...etc

@Teseo

Yes! Gravitational pull to it's core there is in a constant struggle with the 'exothermic' aka 'explosions' on the sun! How does it not collapse?

My main question to this and curiosity is how the sun attracts us and doesn't mess up the rotation we have around it and sends us out to space to freeze (Answer is because of velocity in which earth is moving. If we did get swung out, we'd just correct ourselves again due to gravitational pull). If I may, read some Newton.

How it stays burning is due to the 'nuclear' explosions going on in it 24/7 make it burn. This is due to what the sun is made out of. (hydrogen (about 70%) and helium (about 28%))

You have to observe this at an atomic level. All it is really, is a pull/push and smack action.

Blah....

LOL You guys are funny. If you think i'm crazy about this, you should see me discussing Socrates and Plato. I hate Aristotle. He was a jerk.

p.s. I don't believe in flat Earth. Just in scifi theory. I'm a strong believer since a kid, who read to much and didn't understand anything, on Einsteins theory of general relativity. (like gravity bending light)

At least thats how it was at my hs
Not in mine (2003). Now they do, but it's because books are so limited due to over enrollment. Our education board is stup!d. They wan't to build 3 Elementary Schools to each hold 500-ish students when our Middle School is over populated and will continue to be with our 2.5 elementary schools soon sending their kids on over. Now imagine our h.s. Easily 300-400 over limit. We have a horrid ratio of like 40 students to 1 teacher. I have approx 236 students in one day. So much for one on one curriculum guidance and outreach.

Nah, we still have to live next door. You ever live next door to weird neighbors? Although you can point and laugh most of the time it isn't always fun.

haha I've yet to laugh at Canadians... well only the stereotype of 'boot.' Aboooot what time is it? You like CAN, ey? Hey my friend, ey?

Were overpopulated in CA schools. Worse state for classrooms in whole country. It's affecting our education levels.

Anyways Tcoat, don't worry, i'll make myself up there some time, but first it's Ireland.

I have never met a Canadian in my life that said "aboot" and only a couple that said "eh". They may be regional dialects someplace but I have never been exposed to them.
My regional accent and speech is more like Ohio or Michigan then what people think of as Canadian.
Besides because of stereotyping in movies and shows to me everybody in California is:

or

Those are actually 100% accurate at depending on location and time of the year (or event).

Yes the uniformity of the gravity field varies at different locations on the earth.
That is due to variations in the local density and even magma flows and the ocean tide.

If you use a force balance type of scale (with springs in it) you would measure the weight of something is different at the north pole than it would measure at the equator.

Using a true balance scale (where you put known weights on one end) would give the same results at the poles as at the equator.
Will the Twin drift easier where we get variable magnetic field? Does this explain why Japanese grow the best drifting drivers... Have I opened a can of worms? Should that read worm hole as we are talking science here...
