a better way is just ditch the holder and mount the plate directly onto the bumper.
hoping the holes would line up but i doubt it. |

its technically illegal because the plates are property of the state if i recall correctly and if you got a really picky cop, you can get pinged for it.
import owners bending the rear plate to fit into the recess usually get stung by this law (in NSW at least) moving a screw could be seen as an attempt to obstruct clear visibility of the characters if you got a really evil cop. mounting it directly on the bumper could cause wear to the paint. maybe back it with some rubber cement or something and let it cure before mounting, or mount it with some rubber washers. |
