Glad you're okay, that's all that matters. As for the damage, looks mostly cosmetic. Hell, your license plate is still straight . Maybe pop the hood and take a peak under there. As for insurance. If the other person drove through a red, I'm sure insurance will cover it, and your rates shouldn't go up since you wouldn't be at fault (in my opinion anyway).

I know you said you aren't hurt, but go to a doctor and get checked out. Just to be sure!

Good luck and keep us posted

Glad you're okay OP.

Ya I have!
But they were not "Californians" since they never really got to be residents (well not all of them)

That's a lot of dang salt. Like 8-900 pounds of it?

Ya, the whole forgiveness thing saved our bacon after my wife plowed into the back of a Volvo with her 2 year old SUV!

That's not the kind of salt you eat. They're about the size of oatmeal flakes.

FYI your insurance probably includes $1000 in aftermarket parts coverage. I know Progressive does in the US, not sure about Canada.

But like it's been said a million times already, as long as the other driver is considered at fault, your coverage doesn't matter.

I had that exact same car (only blue) and broke the fog light lens(low flying duck of all things) and it was $350 just for the part so I hear ya on that one.
Oh and I spend 14 hours a week on the 401 and see all kinds of strange shit go down!!!!!
