Also, I am sure this goes without saying but just like with any situation where you are using a wretch, ESPECIALLY a torque wrench, you did apply some down pressure (with your hand) at the fulcrum of the wrench to ensure it was stable while turning, right? You didnt just set it on there and try to crank it down to pressure, both hands on the end of the wrench handle?

I have seen so many people break bolts because they think they can just set the socket and twist ...

Honestly, from the picture, bolt looks sheared off like there was way too much torque. What torque wrench did you buy?

You got to remember that these studs are tiny 1/4" studs pretty much and you can technically snap them by hand even without a torque wrench. It should of just been hand tight with a 1/4" or 3/8" driver.

Torque wrenches are for heads and crank mains and truly important stuff. Otherwise you should be able to tighten things up by hand. I mean you just took it off by hand. You know how tight it was.

Also 12 ft/lbs is pretty light, you probably missed the click as soon as you started.

This happens to every Suby Newby. These studs are only torqued to about 8.5 lb ft. Meaning just past hand tight. Same goes for the strut tops.

I'd recommend mods make this a sticky. At least for a year or two.
