We have 6 months to go before the wedding day. I'm deciding on keeping the car so I grab parts when I have "fun" money available.

Got the intercooler on! MAF deleted w/ GM IAT. Had to re-weld the top pipe so it hasn't been cleaned up or smoothed out.

Need to work on the fueling map, boost comes on MUCH harder than before. Extremely happy so far!

Spent most of today tuning the VE table, no MAF to blend automatically reveals a lot of underlying issues with fueling! Mostly good now, drove the car for hours around town and on the interstate. Love this thing!!! Can't wait for warmer weather so I don't just light the tires up in ever gear. Onset of boost spins 4th at 55mph easily

New 3" front pipe and over pipe from JDL! Current setup is 2.5" and it's a harsh change right at where the wastegate merges into the downpipe.

Have you considered going with a better IAT sensor? We ditched the old-style GM sensors years ago because the response rates are horrible compared to something more modern. T1 makes some nice fast response IAT sensors that work exceptionally well.

I hadn't, I went with GM because it's familiar and I was able to get an adapter to connect to my OEM MAF harness. I'll definitely keep this in mind if I need something snappier. Does the T1 use the same pinout and connector? Thanks for the info!

She needs a wash, that I'd be more than happy to work on it haha!

A tech that is no longer with us did the install. I can ask the next time I run into him, but it couldn't have been that eventful, no issues about installing it comes to mind.

It gives much better feedback than that mid-80s GM sensor. I highly recommend it for high RPM boosted applications.

Do you really think the faster response is necessary for IAT? I understand the appeal but as long as I'm under a certain range, I wouldn't think polling speed is something to be too concerned with (unless running something like water meth ). Thanks again for the input!!

IMO, yes. Why use a sensor design that is 35+ years old on a car that has a much faster and more powerful ECU. If your temps are spiking and you don't know it, it can be problematic. Maybe not the first time, or 100th time, but the more precise feedback you have from the engine, the more accurate the tuning tables will be, which equates to more power and long-term engine safety.

The bigger question is why wouldn't you want a sensor that has a much better response rate?

Haven't gotten to move the car yet, we had a foot or two of snow drop and temps as low as -20f. Soon hopefully I'll have everything cleared so it can roam freely! I suspect it's just going to be a little deeper, the cat should flow very well so I doubt resonance or volume will be impacted much
