transmission rattle

The noise is a harsh what sounds like the gears meshing metal on metal sound. Mostly heard holding speed at 3000rpm or on engine breaking decel.

I read a couple places and it seems it might be the nature of unsprung clutches because the engine pulses are put more direct into the trans and also the fact that I have a lightweight flywheel which is less momentum for each pulse.

I'm pretty sure the noise was there before I swapped my exedy stg2 clutch for the os giken counter space garage version clutch kit but I feel the rattle has gotten worse since the installation.

Does anyone else experience this? I'm just trying to find out if it's normal or if I need to take my trans for repair?

Don't bother repairing it. Those transmissions are dirt cheap. Just put a used one on it you need to.
