Well, if you insist......
It was a cold, rainy night at Coleman Barracks, Germany ( @Tcoat knows, he's been there). I was brigade duty Officer when I got called into the S-3 shop of the 2nd battalion, where two duty NCOs were "holding" this soldier, that was in my infantry platoon. This young PFC was totally out of control. When I asked him if he knew who I was he said yes, your a mother fucking officer and pulled a knife and lunged at me. I side stepped his knife attack and then I totally lost it. He had lost his knife in the scuffle so, I grabbed him, punched him and threw him into a temp plywood wall, knocking it over. He got up and yelled "you're an officer and you just struck an enlisted man"! Yep, that was a bad, bad thing for me to have done. I had the two NCOs tie him up with commo wire and instructed them to take him to the battalion lock up for the night. One of the NCOs, an E-6, and Viet Nam vet, recommended they take him "out back" of the S-3 building and "talk to him" about him spouting off about an Officer striking him. I said OK, just get him out of here. The next day, when I arrived back in the battalion area, the Colonel called me into his office. I figured my officer days were numbered. He said that one of my PFCs was in the hospital in pretty bad shape and that I should go check in on him. I asked the two duty NCOs, what the hell happened to the PFC on the way to lock up. They said that they were "talking" to him about him not doing any more spouting off about an officer striking him ....... when he fell out of the jeep, going about 40 mph, and then fell down a flight of stairs....... The kid recovered and was transferred to the stockade, where he was later court martialed and kicked out of the Army. I failed to make a soldier out of him ........ THE END! humfrz |

Finished my coffee about an hour ago. Was still piping hot, since I have one of those fancy mugs that keep warm things warm for six hours. Definitely want more though.
