Brief Scratching/squeal sound. Accelerating/change gears.

Hello. Not sure if anyone has experienced this.

It's a persistent issue since a little after I got the car last January. I'm at 17.5 k miles now

When changing gears, mostly to third, I'll get a very brief scratch when putting back the gas.

Some days it's there, others it isn't.

I'll also get a scratch/squeal for a split second when I push down the gas hard from 3-6th gears.

I've tried finding some related forums but to no result. It still grabs right away and I can feel the pull forward, but there's just this split second scratch.

I've notified the dealer when bringing it on each maintenance.

The first time the guy said it could be the synchro settling so it'll take time. The second time, the mechanic said that it's actually a good/acceptable sound. Gonna be going in again next week and once again let them know that it's there.

It doesn't seem to affect the performance of the vehicle because it drives just like it did when I got it, but it's just a nuisance when driving. The good thing is the cricket sound when away in its own over the time.

Any ideas? Thanks.

hmmmm............no scratch here.

Can you describe the sound differently .... (squeaky scratch - metallic scratch)?

Where does it sound like it’s coming from (transmission – footwell)?

I've been hearing this very occasionally ever since I got warranty work done on my transmission about 10 days ago. I haven't noticed it in one gear or another, but it's only when moving, and upshifting or downshifting in the lower gears.

It's just a quick little metallic scrape sound. It can feel like a smooth shift and still happen, but it seems random. Not every shift, and not easily reproducible.

Can you get the sound by making the car lurch in first or second. Maybe something rubbing when the engine swings?

Yes! That's how it was before. Just when changing gears.

Some more info. I can't replicate the sound going from first to second gear. However, I do here it occasionally when Rev matching.

Oh I have this problem with my car, I had dealer checking it but they couldn't find anything.

But then again it doesn't happen all the time. I think maybe it's because one of the teeth on clutch plate is sorta not aligned??? Please let me know what you find & update.

It tends to happen in 2-3.5k rpm.

It is most frequent at 2.8-3k
