Though joining this forum even before owning the car has answered many questions and helped prepped me for many of the noises the car makes + other quirks. But then again, I probably would have passed it off as normal without knowing it was already normal. |

It's a fine line. Kind of like going through the Windows event logs. Gotta know which errors actually matter.

At least I was: When we painted the buildings, back on the farm, we mixed our own paint. My job as a kid, dressed in nothing except shorts, was to mix in the powered lead into the 5 gallon pales of paint. When it came time to spray the briars along the fence rows, my job was to hang out over the side of the wagon with the boom, wearing no respirator. Yes, we sprayed with a herbicide called 2,4,5-TP. And yes, we called 2,4,5-TP agent orange in Viet Nam. We used galvanized pipe to weld up headers, in shop, because it was cheaper than black pipe. Little did we realize those white fumes were not so good for us. I reckon I'd better stop ....... before folks start thinking I may be brain damaged...... Now, @Ultramaroon ....... you may tell some stories ...... humfrz |

Oh, of course I was. I didn't have powered lead but I did have my mercury collection from a bunch of old thermostats I salvaged.
...and then there was that 5-gallon can of carbon tetrachloride we used to clean parts ...and our hands. Galvanized? Yeah, I welded a bunch of that too. Think about all the brake drums we cleaned using compressed air.

Well, nice knowing you guys. Selling my car and crawling back into my cave, never to communicate with other humans again.

Not once. Ever. That I am aware of. Or if they did I have forgotten. Where am I? What were we talking about? Oh look some nice peeling 1952 paint. Yummy. Tastes like salt and vinegar chips. Hey, do any of you guys ever park where there are birds? My car is covered in bird poop and I am ascared it is ruined. Oh look more paint.
