Many lyrics sites on the net claims it's

And feed them on your dreams
The one they picks
The one you'll know by

But, that's not grammatically correct, is it? (I foreigner am, yes, yes)
And it doesn't make much contextual sense, does it?
Always sounded like "fix" to me, by that doesn't make any more sense. Later in the song it sounds like "pitch".

So, what do the OT intelligentsia think?
They successfully predicted cat memes 35 years before they happened.

No, I abhor bad grammar. Makes my nasal hair itch.

But I don't see what the problem is with "Wop bop a loo bop a lop bom bom", seems legit to me?

I just couldn't let it go this time, so I've searched the deepest bowels of the net and found a compelling explanation. (for reference https://groups.google.com/forum/#!to...ng/NX7gcSxjUIU)

This guy Peter T. Daniels say it's "pick's" as in "pick is" and continues:
Quote:
but if it's "The one they pick's
the one you'll know by," it's perfectly clear: Tell your children all
your dreams, they'll pick one of your dreams, and the one they pick is
how you'll know about their future.
Which, IMHO, is brilliant. Makes the whole song clearer.
Peter, If you ever google your name and find this post: Thank you! I can finally hear the song and believe I understand it.

Also, another two of my all-time favorite songs right there. No, three. I like the Boss' original AND the Manfred Mann cover.

Why do I feel like I'm repeating myself? Oh. Because I kinda am :-) https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...5&postcount=43
I think I'll repeat myself too. Nightingales And Bombers is my all-time favorite album. I discovered who I was the first time I heard it and how it touched my soul. I don't care that Bruce wrote it. They own Spirits In The Night.

I fear we may be going around in circles, but I have to say I like "Watch" slightly better, as an album. And I don't care that Dylan wrote it, they own Mighty Quinn.

For me... that's Pink Floyd - The Wall. I was 11 when it came into my life. The lyrics was printed on the inner sleeves and I worked it all out, line by line, with a dictionary.

I'd probably be wiser not to admit that to anyone, because it makes me sound either cliché or a very disturbed child, and neither reflects good on me.

But it's the truth.

I'm sure we could spend days together with nothing but beer and a turntable.

Aww... I enjoyed the lyrics. Not cliche, familiar.

If you should go skating
On the thin ice of modern life
Dragging behind you the silent reproach
Of a million tear-stained eyes
Don't be surprised when a crack in the ice
Appears under your feet
You slip out of your depth and out of your mind
With your fear flowing out behind you
As you claw the thin ice

I edited that out because I didn't want to upset Tcoat again ;-)

I need to get my turntable running again. Or replace it.
