Getting a new transmission from warranty, how long did it took?

For those of you who had a bad transmission and had to go through the warranty to get a new one, how long did it usually take? My car has been on the dealership for almost 2 weeks now and they still haven't send a Toyota tech to inspect the transmission to see if I'll get a new transmission or if the'll fix the one I currently have.

Not sure, but hopefully they gave you a loaner.

No that's ridiculous. It took me 4 days I think. And that was outrageous.
And my loaner was a Prius.
And it sucked.
The car still runs fine right? Just missing a gear maybe? I would rather drive a 5 speed FR-S than a Prius anyday. I would go back and get my car and schedule an appointment to have it repaired after the parts arrive.

What state are you in? In CA, at least, 30 cumulative days in for repair within the first 18 months/18000 miles of ownership and they are required to buy it back.

Pretty sure OP said in another thread that he bought his 86 used and the previous owner "abused" the car.

Does this work if you buy it used though? I'm in NJ

The lack of inspection after that much time is not right. I would e-mail or call the regional Toyota head office and ask them, not the dealer or a forum. In the past I found them to be quick to respond.

It's dependent upon the state, if it's second owner and its still within 18 months/18k miles from the original sale I think it still applies in CA at least. Have to talk to a lemon law lawyer, most of them will do a free feasibility consult.
