IRP for a Daily?

Looking to upgrade my shifter. Could go with some MTEC springs or something and a new knob but also kinda want something different - something a little less common. And the feeling of the IRP just hits different.

Just curious on your guys’ opinions … my car is a daily and I don’t know if the additional road noise, rattle, and heat that come with the shifter is worth it. I don’t track the car either - just looking for some extra daily fun. I live in Toronto, if anyone is familiar with the weather here if that plays a part in your opinions. Also running a Tomei UEL + Greddy EVO GT catback .. not sure if that would drown out some noise and rattles.

Curious to hear what you guys think!

You have an EvoGT and you're worried about noise lol. I had a Cart boy short shifter. I loved it. I imagine IRP is very similar

Mtech Shift springs ( I have the Cusco ones )

Weighted Shift knob

Clutch Spring ( I have Cusco one )

TRD/STI Gearbox mount, I have the whole TRD/STI engine/gearbox mounts.
( You could add the insert only )

Really happy with this daily set up.

No added noise or vibration.

Edit: Mtech Clutch spring*

LOL even with the exhaust, all I can hear is rear brake light deck rattling. I would assume metal pieces rattling right next to me would be even more annoying LOL

Nothing in a shifter should be rattling. If it is then it's broken. You'll never get rid of all the rattles though. There's always something that worries e at 80mph

I have this setup too with an added poly shifter bushing. I absolutely love it. The Trans insert bushing will add nvh, the STI/TRD trans mount will not. Add STI Engine Mounts and diff Support Outrigger Inserts for best results.

The early IRP shifters were known for rattling. IRP setup is very different from just throwing a shift knob or metal reverse lockout on. I believe they have since changed some spacer or bushings or something whcih eliminated the rattle but it's not something I've looked into.
