The OFT ZA1JV01D00G tunes are actually based on ZA1JK01I roms fo use those to look at stock tavles, there is no opensource defs for the ZA1JV01D00G

Hey guys,

I've run into a small issue, I come from the Evo tuning world (ECUflash and Evoscan) been playing around with it for over 6 years now. I've also done a few 86/BRZ's for mates. They were all auto's so they were A00I or A01I.

i'm trying to help another mate out with a 2012 manual, when I pulled the ROM off his ECU in ECUflash it came up as a A00G and it will not let me change or edit any parameters.
I've read on here that its okay to flash a A01G over the A00G, however in ECUflash when I pulled the ROM it says that it inherits the 16BITBASE file, the A01G that I found on here inherits the 32BITBASE. Will this be an issue when editing and reflashing?
Also in the definition I have (from ECUFlash) the 3 ID's don't match up in the xml definition file itself, it looks like this:

<romid>
<xmlid>ZA1JA01G</xmlid>
<internalidaddress>8000</internalidaddress>
<internalidstring>ZA1JA01G</internalidstring>
<caseid>8644387107</caseid>
<ecuid>ZA1JA01C</ecuid>
<make>Subaru</make>
<market>AUDM</market>
<model>BRZ</model>
<transmission>6MT</transmission>
<year>2012</year>
<flashmethod>subarubrz</flashmethod>
<memmodel>SH72531</memmodel>
<checksummodule>subarudbw</checksummodule>
</romid>

<include>32BITBASE</include>

As you can see the xmlid, internalidstring is different to the ecuid
Which is why I have been reluctant to flash the ECU at the moment using the definition files that I have.

If anyone is able to help out, that'd be great

A01G is compatavle with A00G , its the factpry update

jist ise A01G rom and A01G definitions

The A01C reference is a mistake it should be A01G

Generally i do all my editing in Romraider then jist use ecuflash to do the flashing

Alright thanks mate, I've used the definition files from Github, and they seem to be a bit better. I'm really familiar with ECUflash for editing so I'll stick with that for now I think. Thanks for the advice however

before giving up on a bricked ecu...

Before giving up you should really try the ecu power drain method first. Disconnect the battery and press the brake pedal for like two minutes, then reconnect the battery and turn on. It will go into a default mode. Depends on how it's bricked though as to if that will work.

I had freaked out once because my laptop died half way through a flash and then the car wouldn't do anything. After doing the above, it worked fine and I was able to finish the flash.

At that time I was looking for a single procedure that would flash a stock tune to a failed-flash ECU without putting the ECU on a workbench - ECUTek has a procedure where supposedly you can force a reflash remotely with their support though I believe that method is similar to what BRZEdit has. Those working with ECUFlash won't have such a feature, as they have to rely on methods that are not guaranteed to work 100%.

I've been very careful thus far, several flashes done on mine and others' cars but would be good to have a fail-safe option when the need arises.

with ecutek you can t brick the ecu, while you have the licence in the ecu
ecutek software as an option of manually select the ecu and override the part-flashed brick error, you don t really need the support for this

A few questions

Flashing OFT v4.03 and found A01G is the base rom with 3 matching addresses. Can I flash this rom into B01C car (2013 Canadian BRZ 6MT)

If Flashing this file would I use the A01G definition posted in the github?

When I use the A01G definition and load the OFT v4.03 in ECUflash I see proper values in open loop and base timing tables. Is it safe to say the flash is safe from here?

15 usdm frs MT ecu flash definitions

I have been trying to find the definitions for romraider or ecu flash so I can begin tuning but I keep finding mixed info.

Also if anyone has a map for a 15 USDM FRS MT with an Intake & Cat back, I would be much appreciated

Pardon me for my ignorance but I would find the calibration ID by pulling the ROM from the car correct?

Edit. I pulled my room but it says rom unknown

Optimizing tune

Hi I've flashed stg 1 OFT v4.03 and I'm trying to optimize this for 91 Canadian gas. In my logs I see -1.05 FBKC and positive 0.7 FLKC at the same time. (27xx rpm, 0.6g load). Should I decrease timing here or do nothing. IAM is 0.7.
