Sound connoisseurs wanted

Hi all!

I'm in need of experience and differing opinions on exhaust sound. To give you some background, the setup I inherited from the previous owner was an Invidia N1 catback and Borla UEL catted headers with a stock FP and OP. I then opted to have an HKS dual resonated front pipe installed - which made the car sound ALMOST perfect. The volume was great, but the tone was a little off for me. I recently switched to an MXP SP quad-tip catback to fill out my RS1 rear bumper. The car is now the perfect tone of a deep-bass (being that it has 3 resonators and 2 mufflers), but lacks volume and any aggressiveness in the higher rpms. At startup it sounds menacing and then when you get on it the sound transitions to an old man sigh. I've been looking at changing the headers to a catless MXP EL, which will keep some of the rumble at lower rpms and hopefully increase volume, but have very little information in regards to this setup.

My question is: Is this the right path I should be taking for volume with a catless header? Which do you prefer - EL or UEL? The rumble is a secondary objective, but not end-all-be-all. I want to match the aggressive/sportiness look of my car with the right exhaust to finish my build and bring back some of its' character.

All opinions are welcome! Yes, the car is tuned.

Removing a cat , in your case the first cat borland catted to mxp decatted) will make the exhaust noticeably louder. An sure its the right way to go for noise but assume you realise the car might not pass emissions depending on where you live.

EL is more balanced , to my ears but a personal preference nevertheless.

You could punch out the cat in Borla as a cheaper way
