Also interested in these things. I wish someone would have jammed a camera under the car or in the wheel wells to look at the suspension.

Took a few guesses but should be close enough. Area under the curve looks great to me.

Someone who buys based on weight and cylinder count. If you're wiling to get something as big as the Z why not get a Corvette? I really don't want a sports car over 3000lbs so my choices are few.

The fact that the dash doesnt really have a cohesive design compared to the first gen doesnt help it.
Its why i hope the Toyota version looks a little better on the inside with whatever screen setup they're going to end up using.

I dont like digital clusters all that much, this one looks mostly fine.....since all it looks like is that they just made the current analog one into a digital version and enclosed it in a boxer shaped screen bezel.

90's era tablet?!?!?! What is that? not sure those existed in the 90's

I did. Nothing in there suggested a swap wouldn't work or be a good idea or be worse/more expensive.

Haha. We have the Subaru provided numbers for the FA20. We know the FA24 has 228hp and 171 ftlbs of torque at 7000rpm and 130hp and 184ftlbs of torque at 3700 rpm. The curve looks pretty flat in the instrument cluster. Close enough.

Didn't read well then.
It would certainly work.
Would be "easier" than some but far from drop in, plug and play.
It remains to be seen what power can be wrung out of it vs the known current swaps. The investment just may not pay off.
Probably three or even four years away from being able to pick up cheap(ish) used engines anyway so half the people interested will either be in something new or a gen 2 and will no longer care.

Aesthetics, ease of tuning, aesthetics, JDM, aesthetics, manual transmission (applies to C8), aesthetics, can't believe I'm able to say this but build quality, aesthetics, higher MSRP, aesthetics, size/too long wheelbase, aesthetics. Did I mention aesthetics?

I personally would never consider the C8 Corvette (despite the 'numbers', 0-60, 1/4 mile, Nurburgring lap times, mid-engine low polar moment of inertia, etc. etc. etc.) mostly because it's not available with a manual transmission. And likely never will be (it's too hard and expensive for GM to figure out a way to route a shifter linkage past the mid-engine to the transmission). As long as my hips and knees hold out, for me a manual is still an absolute must-have deal-breaker.

That, and the legendary GM build quality. Been there, done that, don't need to do it again. Do a little internet search for C8 Corvette problems and see what's popping up already. No thanks. I'm too old (and impatient) to put up with that kind of crap. I want to spend my remaining time driving the car, and I don't mean back and forth to the dealer for repairs.

I'd gladly trade off some 'numbers' for a somewhat (and irrelevantly) slower Nissan Z with a stick, and spend much less time at the dealer.
