Thanks for the input, It just sucks that I've been out a car for so long. I was scared when they wanted to rebuild the motor instead of replacing a short block or with a new engine. Especially when they quoted me $9k to do the work they are doing now before they were deemed at fault. I would think it would've been cheaper on their end if they just replaced the motor.

Except the piece was removed, cam sprocket, and ecm replaced, and the same error code remained.
Engine was removed a third time, passages rechecked, timing cover was tore apart to check those passages, and nothing found. Timing cover, cam sprocket, intake cam carrier, RH head were all replaced, and the engine again ran the same. That one piece of silicone doesn't explain all of that. |

Per the service manager at the dealership, that is the case. Subaru of America had zero in the U.S., and the only inventory was with Toyota, but I don't know how many.

Update:
Got my car back on Friday There was some lame o fuckery when I picked it up. Trunk lid was open sitting in the parking lot with my sub for the world to see. Second battery terminal was lose. So lose as soon as I drove off the lot battery light came on and stalled. So after a mini heart attack with murderous rage I drove it back. A quick look over from the mechanic it was back to normal. After that car runs like new everything feels tight. I was super paranoid for the first 20 miles, every little rattle or noise got to me. But not any more. Now for what they did: They did the recall work but I was informed when I picked it up that they had trouble with exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter. Apparently they broke off the studs so I got a new cat and manifold. So far about 100 miles zero issues. I'll report back every 1000 miles with either good or bad news. But I'm confident the work was done right.

Time will tell! Hey do we have an idea at what miles after the recall we can be considered in the clear?
