Yes, I know. The fuel pump upgrade is in preparation for the Harrop kit that I have. Combining those two requires an increase in fuel flow.

But you already know that.

I know, and I get it, and I have personally done a looooooottt of searching and reading on this forum (for more than a year before I started posting). But I also understand that a) forums survive on a steady trickle of new threads, even if there's not really anything new to talk about, b) it's easier and better to answer simple questions instead of berating newbies, and c) VB's search function is freaking terrible. So why not just answer nicely and move on with life, having done your good deed for the day, eh?

Gotcha. just didn't want the OP thinking he needed to upgrade his fuel pump to run E85.

SC on E85 will be amazing.

I think stock + a tune is the best version of this car for someone not chasing numbers. After I ditched my UEL header and was totally stock, I enjoyed the car more

Why is that? Noise? I'm a bit sick of the noise.

I think the noise was a factor, I enjoy equal length. But also just driving it, the car felt better put together by having all original parts and was balanced. Mentally knowing also that everything was stock relieved a little stress as well

Whether that's "worth it" is highly subjective, but I have this car to play with a little (while remaining a DD), so it was worth it to me as a first step to learning about the car. I'll get a header sometime soon, but in the meantime it's fun to learn how to read data logs and make little tweaks, if that's what you're into.
Thanks Cephas. When I say "worth it" I mean can you notice it and you have answered that for me. I love the feel of the car and don't want to transform it into something else - just improve that mid rev dip.

Thanks Alphasaur. I read that it was a waste to get the headers and then retain the stock exhaust system but you have a different viewpoint.

Totally agree with you on the usability of the forum. I have tried searching out my questions and find it so hard to find the answers. I appreciate you taking time to answer my questions.

Sure thing!

The Stage 1 flash won't get rid of the mid-range dip, unfortunately. It's a bit less, but definitely still there. Only way to slay that dragon is a header (which I'm still trying to decide on) and the Stage 2 flash.

I'm with you on the noise. Most here like to swap exhausts to get a little more sound. I did the opposite. My car came with a Borla catback that I swapped for stock. The Borla was a nice sound, but it was just too much for me.

Since doing that, I did UEL headers, Flexfuel and a tune and I'm really happy with the car now. The headers added a bit of a growl when you get on it, but it's not loud with the stock exhaust behind it. Flexfuel and the tune evened out the torque response and gave a noticeable bump in power. It's nothing like adding boost, but it's definitely something you can feel.

Header, exhaust, drop in filter and tune. Car runs great. You don’t need more power to enjoy this car on public roads.

I like the following video. It describes what can be achieved with header+tune. The header is catted but still removes the torque dip.

I chose Jackson Racing supercharger after that, 35K miles ago.
