Another oil filter question

Hey everyone,

Just got my oil change at Toyota. They used the oil filter below. However, a year ago I read to get the oil filters with ending in AA170 from this thread .

Anyone have an idea or can clarify? Thanks.

Heck, it don't matter as long as it fits and doesn't leak.

Hell, back in the day, cars didn't have oil filters -

My filters said subaru from the factory so I've been using subaru brz filters. If there's a toyota equivalent, I've never looked for it

Although it seems to fit fine, if we're going by the book, your dealer messed up; that's a filter for Gen 1.

The Toyota part number for the Gen 2 oil filter is SU003-08412, but inside the box is a Subaru 15208AA170.

That's what I thought..Last year a huge thread and it was discussed that AA170 is the correct one. Does it say it in the manual? I can't find it...

Not sure, I don't have a Gen 2 so I don't have the manual haha.

I just Googled the part numbers and one of those dealership websites will show you exactly all the cars/models it fits.
