It looked like a directional tread that was installed on the wrong side. Typically directional treads "point" downwards when viewing from the front. That's not the case here so we're were mistaken.

Dude, they looked fine to tcoat because he didn't notice.

I did a double-take on them IRL, so I get what you guys were seeing.

That’s wild. All these years I’ve thought that the point of the chevron faced the front at the contact patch.

Edit. Damn good thing they put those funny little arrows on them.

Typically the point of the arrowhead meets the road first, and the grooves channel the water away from the center of the contact patch.

Typically.

Looked fine for me because I Googled R888R to see what direction they ran without just assuming.

Wonder what the odds are that I got bad fuel and something isn't wrong with the car. Stopped at a gas station yesterday morning that I normally never would and got 4 gallons to get to work and back home.

Car stalled about a mile from my house then wouldn't start for a couple tries. Then this morning was struggling not to stall at idle and wouldn't take any throttle.

Unless it was Diesel, the only other think that I can think off, based on the year of your car, is the fuel pump. Did you get the recall done, if you received a notice?

I have not, and that was my second thought.

I haven't heard of anyone actually experiencing a fuel pump on the 2018s going out, but it is a possibility. The good; it is covered under the recall. The bad: there is slight chance that you'll visit the dealership a few times if whoever does the repair, does a bad job at it, which means you'll fuel gauge wont read accurately, causing a complete replacement of the component. Which again is good, just annoying to make multiple visits.

I'm on here a lot and I've heard about some of those stories. Made an appointment to have it done. Doubt it would be worth syphoning the fuel out.

Best of luck, would be a good idea to remind them that your car takes 93 or 91 if that is the highest available. The dealership that did mine used 87 to fill the tank. Won't hurt it but it sucked for about a week.

Yep, they are not directional, but have inside and outside markings.
