That sounds like me… but next week gonna be worse. My boss resigned, so my department (of 4 staffs lol) gotta figure out who’s taking over boss’ projects & etc. From the rumor I’m hearing, one of my co-worker gonna be taking the intern boss spot… that means, I gotta take her spot to help cover some of her work, but there’s no one gonna cover my work. Result, I’ll be doing two jobs AGAIN

The intranet training system was down my first couple days. I had to do a weeks worth of training modules in one day. 7 hours of watching videos and answering quizzes.

It’s super easy and I’ve fit right in with all the other drivers. I’ve been out in route with two drivers twice now. Friday I filled in for my buddy, the day loader/warehouse guy. Which with my experience was a cakewalk. As soon as I get my company driver training done I’ll be able to start driving routes. For now it’s just riding along and getting familiar with the system.

Got into work this morning and my old boss must miss me. Left a bottle of Eagle Rare on my desk.

clearly, someone retired from the workforce before OSHA-10 training was a thing!

the other thing with motorcycles is the common phrase:

"there's motorcycle riders that have crashed, and motorcycle riders that will crash soon"

my grandfather rode for almost 40 years. i know of at least 3 accidents he's had, all of which were before cell phones, but were all from other drivers "not seeing" him. things are only worse now. of course, he hung up his helmet about 11 years ago when he turned 80..

i'd love to get a honda grom for commuting, but i just simply don't trust my fellow man enough to my life in their hands. i prefer to keep at least some sort of large structure between them and me.

He has been trying to get me to stay ever since I put in notice, I have had no less than a dozen talks about it with him. He also knows I won't take a made up position to stay, and to stay I have made it clear the only thing that would keep me would be to take over as GM. The plan I think, is to see if I will stay on part time in a consulting capacity, but I am not completely sure. I am off pretty early at the new job and have a ton more free time. I don't think he is willing to drop the GM for a number of reasons though. It's the GM that basically hasn't talked to me since I put in notice. I've been given fairly favorable terms in my part time employment with them. My insurance at the new job doesn't kick in till 60 days and I have about 10 days PTO remaining at my old job. So they are taking the hours I work and adding in PTO hours to keep me in insurance till that point. I'm still allowed to use my company fuel card, still have my old work phone and credit cards to buy what I need. At the moment, it is worth it to continue to work part time. I don't have to deal with anyone and I can just do work.

My friend got a house out of his 2nd crash. The first one he was riding his new to him Ducati home and slipped on some gravel in front of me. That was the day after he got his motorcycle license.

This is why my wife won't let me get a motorcycle.

We had a customer wreak an R1 twice on his way home after buying it. Once right when he left the parking lot. He came back the next day and tried to blame the sales guy. They sent him on his way with his wadded up bike. The sales guys would often come into the shop to vent on us when they had a difficult customer. I remember the sales guy coming in many times talking about how he tried to talk the guy out of it, but he had to have it and had umpteen years of dirt bike experience and it would be fine

my mom specifically said i was forbidden from owning a motorcyle until i moved out because while her and my dad were dating, my dad took out my uncles motorcycle around the block. the kickstand didn't latch, and it unknowingly fell down before the first turn.

he went to turn, kickstand caught which laid the bike down, and he slid on his shoulder for, depending on if you ask her or my dad, somewhere between 15 or 3,000 feet into a parked car.

she said between her dad's crashes with people not paying attention before cell phones, and having to help rub burn cream on my dad's shoulder for a few months, there was no way i was ever getting a bike until she didn't need to come by to deal with it.

Reminds me of the time after I was 80 years old, I went to have my drivers license renewed. The lady ask me if I wanted to renew the motorcycle rider? I told her no. She said it doesn't cost any more to renew it. I said no thanks, I have no business riding a motorcycle anymore.
