if sound was your priority, what after market speaker/amp setup / brand(s) would you recommend, if you were dealing with a top of the line pioneer or JVC as the head unit?

So I am getting a low spec, as later it will be a trackcar. But for the time I'll drive it as DD, on 18" TRD rims and only a sports exhaust, I plan on getting a Kenwood 2DIN Headunit maybe with Navi, 2 Kenwood 3 way 17 cm speaker front, 2 Kenwood 5 way 15 x 23 cm speakers rear, a Kenwood amplifier and a Kenwood 30 cm subwoofer placed instead of safty wheel.

I hope the stock audio system is adequate. If not, I'm gonna be replacing them with some Pioneer HU, Audison speakers/sub and Mosconi amps; although, I'm hesitant cause I want everything to be stock.

I mainly listen to electro/house/dubstep/trance etc, and for some reason those genres show flaws in any audio system very noticeably.

I was thinking if I get the low spec I could replace the door speakers with Alpine Type Rs, but you guys are convincing me otherwise Im not even sure if the component setups will work with aftermarket speaker replacement.
Well in the US I doubt you'll be able to get a low spec, especially since Scion LOVES their audio systems and push them with 30 different head unit options (ok not quite 30..).

Type-Rs.. I hope you planned on amping though.. sound like crap without an amp IMO.

The top of the line Pioneer is probably the best HU you can buy new for SQ right now. Comparing that to any JVC model is pretty pointless. The Pio P99RS is also a $1,200 source unit though...

Different people like different sounds in both amps and speakers (hopefully we can avoid the 'all amps sound the same discussion'). Speakers are incredibly subjective so you definately need to listen to various options yourself.

I'm currently running Hybrid Audio tech front stage (Clarus components, active off a McIntosh amp) and a CDT gold 8" sub off a Audison LRx mono amp.

In some installs I like Focal's also. And Morel. And Hertz (some of the line).

Of course I'll run an amp (also Alpine).

I just don't know how well it would work with the stock component setup...

Will there be an option for an upgraded stereo? Wonder how good the stock 8 speaker system in the BRZ will be?

I wonder if Subaru, or whoever made this chart, is considering the two-way separates on the dash as one speaker. Not the (6) or (2) speaker options. No mention of 8.

It's possible. Pics show the JDM cars to have the 8 speaker setup as well.

The size's initally released in the Toyota tech manual are abnormal as well so I'm not sure any of those specs are accurate, or if they use some other method of measuring.
