Most of my break in miles have been on unplanned road trips driven by family need and not any real "play time" behind the wheel.

With a hair over 1000 miles on the ODO I'm averaging 28.8 mpg if the OBC can be trusted. This is on highways with speeds about 75 mph in rolling hills and temps anywhere from 12 to 50F.

Overall I'm pretty happy. It's a little worse than my GTI or my 435i, but Subaru engines have never been known for their mileage or efficiency, so going in I wasn't expecting Prius-like results.

(Limited, manual on OEM tires)

There's more than one way to skin a cat.

Our 2022 Forester bounces off the redline once a trip, and it has 39 miles on it now. Once oil temp reaches operating values let it rip. Also important to heavily induce engine braking to help even out piston ring wear/wipe.

Oil getting changed at 100 miles, then 500, then normal intervals.

Worked for every new car and motorcycles Ive owned and engines I've built.

The only important thing to do is to let the motor warm up. Let the motor warm up. Let the motor warm up. Let the motor warm up. Aside from that RPM up and down, up and down, up and down. 4 miles on the odometer don't go on an 8hr road trip.

I like the BRZ, but I don't think it is anything special when it comes to mpg comparisons..
Not at all, just bringing up some points.

Anyways, I found this gen's EPA very odd as its estimate drops significantly from the 1st gen. This seems to differ from the real world results people are getting, which like I said - tend to be about 3 mpg's less on average.

If you look up Camaro V6 averages from folks that post their data, you will find they are burning significantly more fuel on average than the twins. The average comes closer to something around 21 mpg. And that's not even including the fact that the Camaro gets an 8 speed auto, which definitely helps fuel efficiency.

If you look at 2.7L Cayman data from people, you'll find they run an average of 21-23 mpg as well.

You have to be an EXTREME spirited driver IMO to get these kind of numbers on the twins, even for gen 2 from what I'm seeing.

Brz, ltd, manual,2022, Blizzaks WS80, 36 psi on the tires (when I monitor/control ).
Got ~32 MPG on a road trip (1100 miles)
Getting 22 MPG on my daily short commute on city speeds and crappy roads.

Precious (2018), was getting on summer tires 27/34 MPG.

9.5 L/100km (25 US, 30 CA MPG) average over 2500km, average speed 37 km/h. 91 Shell, very cold climate (right now it's a warm day if we get much above 0F).

Mix of city and highway, but mostly city. Respected the break in, and it's been super snowy and slick, so with all that I have not been driving it hard, lest my traction control system get worked to death.

That’s impressive for the road trip! I plan to do some decent road trips with mine after the break in period. Glad to know it can get in the 30s.

That’s great to hear. Kind of what I was hoping for.

My mileage is a combination of learning stick in a parking lot and doing some in-town driving. For the first 100 miles, it was roughly 18 mpg but now at 400 miles, I'm getting 21.8 mpg. I feel like this car can hit 30 mpg when I start taking it on the highway after 1k miles.

I was very conservative for the first 100KMs. Does that count?

Since new, I haven’t reset the fuel consumption. Over 2400 miles now, average 13.5 mpg. Since I haven’t had a need to commute, mostly fun drives and I like high rpm.

I’m getting a solid 26.9 suburbs driving. When I had a bit of a freeway trip this weekend I made it to 27 but it went back to 26.9 during my commute.

Manual, Limited

I got 7L/100km on a road trip this past weekend. Not bad overall. Converted that's 33.7MPG
