Oil pressure sensor is now installed and tested. Both on road and track unfortunately the track day I did this past Friday was very wet so getting the car past 230f wasn't happening.

From the data I did collect everything seems fine. Pressure is as you would expect with no dips due to load. I will be doing another track day on Nov 25 hopefully it's dry so I can get a better data set.

This past Friday was the first track day since installing the suspension upgrades. Was hopefully for a nice gain in lap time but instead was gifted a very wet track day

Wasn't easy for me to form any real opinion on the new setup beyond it's pretty oversteery. I felt like I was driving on a knife edge any more throttle and the car was going to spin.

Most likely this was more me being nervous and the car probably would have just went into a very controllable "drift". I ended up disconnecting the rear sway bar which did seem to help in both feel and time.

I took the car out for a bit of a blast around my local roads since it was the first nice day since the alignment and the ride comfort is just great. Handles the bumpy back roads without issue. Loads of grip yet still quiet and well mannered.

I threw together a video covering all this ending with my best lap from Friday's track day.

I had the car aligned and corner balanced at LOH motorsports. Was a string alignment so no printout.

My local Toyota dealer is going to toss it on their rack tomorrow because printout and trust issues lol

Also waiting on pictures of the cars weight. Will share when I get them

Alignment Specs
Front Camber -3.8
Front toe 0
Rear camber -2.3
Rear Toe IN 0.10 per side

Center of hub to fender
Front ride height 355mm
Rear ride height 352mm

Interesting with the 12mm OEM bolts, I think that plus crash bolts would have gotten me the -4.9 degrees I wanted. Soft 200tw tires so obviously different there than yours.

Glad to hear things are working well! Curious how much droop/bump travel you have on the new long body shocks if you're able to measure sometime, I'll be sending mine in next winter for a refresh/service but wondering if it makes sense to just buy the new stuff... No complaints right now, but I haven't been on track with the car yet hammering curbs.

Sad that it was so wet for the track day, car looked fun besides the "well it's really sketchy" haha

I forget, do you have a stiffer front swaybar yet?

there was a bit of confusion with the camber.... I told them to try and get as much as they could before touching the camber plates. They took that to mean don't touch the camber plates LOL. So the -3.8 is just from the bolts the camber plates are still in the center.

I can measure the droop next time I have the car in the air. My ride heights are pretty high which I assume affects the drop travel. But again happy to measure.

My sway bars are stock all around. Didn't plan on changing them so fingers crossed this setup works well in the dry LOL

Just a small update... Over the weekend I changed the Oil, Brake fluid, Trans and Diff fluid To prepare for my upcoming track events. So far I have 3 events booked and paid for.

April 10th local track day at Mondello Then a double header Oulton Park/Donington in August. Hopefully I get good weather as I still have yet to drive on track in the dry with the new suspension setup!

For those who care...
  • Transmission fluid:75w-90 Amsoil MTL
  • Diff fluid: 75w-90 Motul Gear 300 LS
  • Brake fluid: Castrol SRF racing
  • Motor Oil: Mobil 1 5w30 Super 3000 XE1

Same as I used last year. I am not sure I can easily get the Mobil one anymore so might switch it up when I run out.

First track day of 2024. The lap wasn't the best under drove a bit and left around a second on the table after reviewing the data maybe closer to two with a better driver. I just lacked confidence not sure if that was due to the track itself or the tires either way lessons were learned and I have a few ideas for next time assuming I get nice weather

April 10th Track day

Track Temp 61.0F/16.1C(Raining in the morning)
Max Speed: 93MPH/149KMH
Max RPM: 7386 Down from 7459
Max Brake Pressure: 833PSI Down from 852PSI
Max Oil Temp: 248/120C
Max Coolant Temp: 198F/92C
Oil Pressure: 40.3PSI - 56PSI AVG 48

Lap looks pretty solid, especially considering the damp morning and still puddly patches!

Thanks! I was pretty bummed about the lap time as the data seems to suggest the grip was the same compared to my best lap from 10 months ago.

Even if the grip was the same I definitely didn't feel confident to push much harder then I did.

I am planning to go again on May 6th and again on June 20th.... If things go to plan I will have the traction mod along with upgraded wheels and tires for the June event.
