engine check light question - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

I've got a 2013 BRZ, basically the same car as the FR-S so I will ask for advice here.

I'll be driving along at highway speed and suddenly see multiple warning lights on the instrument cluster. The ABS and traction control lights both come on, and also the check engine light. Shortly thereafter the lights all go off except check engine. Meanwhile the car is running just fine with zero glitches of any kind. The car has the automatic transmission.

I've taken it in to a dealer and the trouble code isn't helpful for them. They asked Subaru and were told it means a gear shift solenoid didn't actuate within spec. Unrepairable part, so I would need a new valve body and it would be a $1000 repair.

This doesn't make any sense to me. There's no shifting going on when the lights flash and no perceptible shifting lag or problems. Any suggestions?

Do you know the code?

After you get the code, include what mods have been done to the car in your post.
