TIL (well OK yesterday) that as much as I don't like giving all my holiday shopping money to Amazon, etc online, I hate even more doing actual retail shopping with the exception of a few local shops and Microcenter.

TIL cutting a round part in half with some precision is difficult.

It's even tougher with more precision.

What's that saying about how every thousandth, cost a thousand or something, something.

What sucks is it is a stamped wheel half. So there is no center to mark and it is formed with multiple steps and the measurement I think they messed up is down where my calipers don't reach and I don't have a set of inside spring calipers. So cutting it in half was the easiest solution I had to get it done.

It's damn near impossible with a hole already in the center. Gotta do what you gotta do.

I couldn’t sleep with those numbers and bought an inside spring caliper to verify. I did get close but I should have just waited and used the right tool for the job.

I just got the radius and used my caliper as a gauge to mark center on the outer lip. It worked okay for a rough estimate.

Working on opening tooling with new vendor for this stamped rim half. Going over manufacturing drawings which ended up not being right.

You could just put it in a vise and measure from one side of it, assuming you confirm the sides of the vise are parallel.
